In 2006, Siam Country Club began a total renovation project of its existing 35 year old 18-hole golf course, which is today known as the Old Course. In March 2007, the Old Course, designed by Schmidt & Curley Design was reopened, & was immediately courted to showcase an international caliber championship tournament, the Honda LPGA Thailand 2007 in October. The Old Course is a flush green, mature & traditional classic tree-lined golf course. A strong emphasis is given to the upkeep of the golf course. Choosing the right strand of grass is the beginning. Novotek ultradwarf Bermuda grass is chosen for the greens. The rest is grassed with the Seashore Paspalum, a revolutionary strand typically used in tropical & subtropical climates in coastal areas. Groundcovers such as Red Fountain grass, Love grass & Yellow Peanut grass are widely planted & blended into native grasses. The clubhouse features a restaurant serving Asian & international dishes, a well stocked pro shop & complimentary lockers & showers.
